Local move from Dallas, TX to Corpus Christi, TX

Contract price scam

I signed a moving contract between Dallas, TX and Corpus Christi, TX with Ryan Rinker from Coastal Movers for $2,179.50 on 5/28/24. I gave a 944.00 deposit to Ryan for the move.

Ryan told me that they couldn’t travel 6 hours in 1 day due to the trucker’s regulations so it would cost for 2 days of travel each way and hotels for each way. First, truckers with a Class-C license allows for 60 hours in any consecutive period; which adds up to a very big lie. Second, I asked Ryan if Coastal Movers were going to move my stuff? He said yes, but on moving day CITA Van Lines show up and tried to rewrite the contract at 7,000.00. I was not able to reach Ryan or Coastal Movers from that point on. I still do not have our belongings plus I’m out almost 5,000.00 in cash. Contacted a lawyer and trying to sue for our belongings and money back is now costing even more money.

Long-distance move from Philadelphia, PA to Fort Lauderdale, FL

Highly recommend

We recently used All Coast Moving and could not recommend them more! The movers were very punctual, professional and efficient! They took the time to wrap every piece of furniture & secure everything . The estimated timing was on point. Everything arrived to our destination in perfect condition & in a timely manner. We highly recommend going with this company and team for your next move. Marc took the time and educated me on the whole process and helped alleviate all the stress that comes from preparing for a move.

Long-distance move from San Francisco, CA to New York, NY

A nightmare

After more than a month my nightmare with All Coast Moving Group is (mostly) over.

Under no circumstances should you book with them. It would be faster and cheaper to burn your money and smash up your furniture by yourself.

ACMG is a Florida-based moving BROKER. Google "Florida Moving Scam" so that we're on the same page. I wish I had done this back in November, when I was in an insane rush to get my stuff delivered to Manhattan from San Francisco. One of their sales guys, Nick, promised me that they could have it delivered in 8 days. This sounded great! I happily gave them a $1000 deposit, to get my estimated 286 cubic feet of stuff to NYC for about $2500 total.

The first hint I had that something wasn't right was when the movers arrived, loaded up my stuff, and said that it was actually 786 cubic feet. My stuff was in a storage unit with specific dimensions, so I knew this couldn't be the case, but there was nothing that I could do about it. Also, the price per cubic foot had jumped up 10%. I had to pay half of the remaining, with the new estimate at $5500, but hey, at least I'd get my stuff soon, and I figured Nick sounded legit and he'd get this sorted.

This is when my hell started.

Danielle ignored my emails for weeks and blew me off whenever I got a hold of her on the phone. Her story changed about whether my stuff was en route, in California, or in Nevada. She told me to suck it up and that my stuff would arrive when it arrived. I spent hours on the phone in the ensuing weeks desperately trying to find out where my stuff was, whether I could get the price fixed, and the COI. Danielle constantly lied with a smile on her voice while she blew me off again and again.

MORE THAN SIX WEEKS after I had my stuff picked up I got a call from the truck driver, and an email from Danielle. The driver said that I would have to pay $700 extra for him to bring my stuff to Manhattan, plus a bunch of extra fees for everything you can think of, and the email from Danielle had an improperly filled in COI that wasn't even close to satisfying my building's requirements. A call with Danielle had her ensure she was "working on it", but by then I knew that she had no qualms about lying to your face.

I ended up booking a new mover, and paying them $800 just to get my stuff from Brooklyn to Manhattan. They met me at the truck and we all stared in awe at the utter lack of care with which he dumped another person's belongings onto the street and into the snow. I actually saw a box completely break apart and the driver kick the contents on to the sidewalk, while commenting about the supposed race of the person. ("This must be a 7-11 owner", while imitating an Indian accent).

I waited with dread for him to get to my stuff, and when it was time, I knew what was coming: My new couch was torn, my dresser was totaled, and basically everything else had the sort of damage that could only be caused by the blatant disregard of people who give absolutely zero shits about your property.

The moving company that they used for my move is some shitty company with a horrible rating. No one in their right might would book them, but ACMG would: They're cheap. They can quote low, skim some money off the top, and then forget about you. They made their money and they're happy to let you have to deal with the bottom barrel movers they use.

* Don't use ACMG

* Read reviews with a critical eye: 95% of the reviews for ACMG were fake 5 star reviews, which could easily be verified by googling parts of the reviews and noticing exact copies of the review for other companies. Luckily Google removed most of the fake ones, but I am sure they will be back.

* Don't use a broker, especially any from Florida or New Jersey

* Spring for better insurance

* Read everything you sign carefully. They are not above bait and switching you.

* Read the FMCSA's "Rights and Responsibilities Handbook". Every page.

* Don't make my mistake.

Horrible and Expensive Move

There is over 1000 rounds of ammunition in the bottom of a wardrobe box with many heavy metal items on top with no packing. We have all sorts of broken items why do they put delicate items in the bottom of a box and the put heavy items on top? Two of the guys, Carlos and George were good. Then there was the 2 non-english speaking Russian guys that were terrible. The Russians just piled stuff unwrapped in boxes most of it damage or completely destroyed. For this disaster would you believe we were gouged to the tune of $30,120?

ZERO STARS

This company is absolutely terrible and the reviews are fake . I blame myself that I should have disregarded the 5 star review because it's all BULL****. They loaded my things on 12/27and I've been calling and calling to find out where my things were. First excuse was it's on its way in 3-5 days those days came and went then I contacted them again to be told that it was an issue with the truck and it's on its way in again another 3-5 days these 3-5 days have come and went still no furniture . I've been living in my house for almost 2 months now. This company is a sham and they should be ashamed of themselves. I feel like I was definitely taken advantage of and when I asked for a discount because of the delay he told me well we have 21-30 days to deliver. I would have deliverit myself if I knew I would be lied to every time I call. I'm reporting them to the better business bureau and [EDIT] this company. Don't EVEN THINK OF USINGTHEM !!! STAY CLEAR AWAY. I'LL LEAVE THIS REVIEW ON EVERY PLATFORM I CAN. AVOID ALL COAST MOVERS AT ALL COST. I was also charged a $175 fee on top of the original price starting that it was a distance fee from the storage unit to the truck but when I set everything up I told them that I had a storage unit.

Long-distance move from Chesterton, IN to Plano, TX

Avoid - Avoid - Avoid

I've moved dozens of times over the years - always using the "big boys" of the industry with great success.... circumstances dictated I use "internet direction" on my last move from Indiana to Texas.

Enter All Coast with their quick response and easy quote.... Shane was confident, smooth, and articulate... quoted me $3000+/- over the phone..... and promised delivery within 7 days of pick up. Follow up phone call with an accurate inventory bumped it up to $3500+/-. No problem, right?

Truck arrived to pick up goods... Driver "adjusted" the price on the spot to $5000+/-. Take it or leave it...What you gonna do when you "have' to be in your destination to start work? I took it... left detailed instructions with the load crew.

Week later - no goods, no content.... Follow up call to All Coast customer service. "We're sorry - but if you read your contract, you will see we have up to 30 days to deliver... We will let you know".... Aaaarg....

A week later, I'm told to expect delivery within 5 days..... GREAT!!! Oops.s.. We have to schedule a different driver - and expect him within 7 days....

27 days later - driver calls.... I'm on my way. Have a money order ready or cash - we don't take credit cards.... Sunday at noon!!! Driver shows up - parks - and say's " no money order - no delivery..... I figured out a way to get a money order for the amount at the local Wal-Mart (I've never had to deal with money orders in the past)..

Delivered goods - gouged the apartment floor with furniture - did not deliver my new $1000 BBQ Grill - Broke my antique Hall stand - and said "file a claim".....

I'm standing in my new apartment - looking at boxes... and wondering... "what else is missing/broken/destroyed...

Lousiest service I've ever encountered in any industry over the past 50 years. Bait and switch - Got to have cash because they know credit card charges can be contested.....

Ended up costing me twice what a reputable moving company would have cost me.....

Moving

This company is a joke. I called today to find out what time they would be here to move my things and they said the driver cancelled and wants to push my moving date out a week and a half. Very unprofessional on the phone. I’m suppose to receive a refund but they said it would take a week to receive it but then they wanted their money up front when I booked this 2 weeks ago. Do not use this company. They are not reliable at all. You will be left hanging. Now I have to rent a uhaul and move it across country myself. I called a different moving company to see if I could get a quote from them. I told them who I had a reservation with and they said they overbook and underpay their drivers and that’s why they cancelled. This guy said he used to work for them but after he found out how they done business he left the company. DO NOT USE ALL COAST MOVING TO MOVE

YOUR THINGS BECAUSE THEY WILL CANCEL!!!

Long-distance move from San Antonio, TX to Lexington, KY

SCAM ALERT! DISHONESTY IS THEIR POLICY!!

First of all, I had to enter a star rating or I wouldn't have given them any. We just moved my nephew to Kentucky for a job and scheduled for his things to be there on his apartment move in date. That was 2 weeks ago. Haven't heard a thing from them! All we know is his stuff is in Dallas. That took about an hour because they couldn't even find our information. They kept saying I think you have the wrong company. Once it's been brokered out... They are out! Still no date as to when his things will arrive. When questioned, they said we should of read the fine print! We don't guarantee deliveries, we just ask the date needed for fun! I would suggest NEVER EVER EVER USING THIS COMPANY. SCAM SCAM SCAM! THE ONLY THING THEY ARE GOOD AT IS LYING, DECEIVING AND TAKING THAT DOWN PAYMENT!

Long-distance move from Philadelphia, PA to Houston, TX

Run away now, imo a bait and switch

Had a move set up from the Philadelphia area to Houston. Sent pictures of the furniture and boxes to be moved, and they quoted me $2,783 on THEIR form which called it a binding estimate. After moving the pick up date and me only finding out after I called them 2 days before, they show up just before 10P.M. and inform us the company underestimated the cubic feet. They wanted to increase the cubic feet allowance approx 80%, and asked for an additional $1,500 approx. Keep in mind, this was now at past 10 P.M. After much frustration, we turned them away as it felt like a bait and switch. They then refused to return our deposit of $995. If I could give them less than 1 star , I would. I believe this sort of scam is the very reason consumer protection agencies were formed. I've notified the licensing agencies in Pennsylvania, Texas, and their home base of Florida.

Long-distance move from Beaverton, OR to New York Mills, MN

At Best, Scam; At worst, extortion

I recently contracted with All Coast Moving (allcoastmovinggroup.com/), out of FL, for the transportation of goods from Oregon to Minnesota. All Coast subcontracted the move to Neville and Son Trucking, without my consent, and now I have no way of reaching anybody at that organization to find out where the goods may be today. This whole sequence has been a series of fraudulent business tactics including price gouging and extortion. If I do reach somebody the answer is 'call when we're in the office'.

To date I have paid the booking fee and half of transportation. The cost estimate TRIPLED from the original quote, and an additional $4,000 have been tacked on to the final tally with no accounting. To date I have paid +$8,000, and am on the hook for another $4,600 to receive my goods.

All coast says the goods are still pending load to delivery, however they are now stating that in order for me to schedule a delivery date I must pay the remaining balance before they schedule delivery; this is in direct conflict with the contract. As this has been a series of escalating costs and delays, I asked how much more do I have to pay and her response was basically “you must pay all that the delivery company charges in order to schedule delivery of your goods”.

Transportation regulation violations include, but not limited to:

Exceeding legal time limits for delivery, now in excess of 30 calendar days.

Charging by cargo volume instead of cargo weight

Charging more than 110% of original quote

Demanding cash upon loading and delivery

Online research shows this is a pattern of behavior for Neville and Son Trucking, and even more concerning is the reputation of the drivers they hire; several have been identified for having narcotics on the truck. People have lost their household goods for months with no recourse.

I am a disabled veteran, and my entire life and company is on that truck, personal AND professional.

I, and every other individual that contracts with All Coast or Neville and Sons, are being held hostage by two companies who have established a practice of 'punting' the customers back and forth with unclear answers and continuous demands for more money.

Customer Complaints for All Coast moving

https://www.bbb.org/us/fl/boca-raton/profile/moving-brokers/all-coast-moving-group-llc-0633-90591783

What is key here is this organization contracting with a company, one with the reputation of Neville and Son Trucking, without giving the individual making the move the opportunity to verify the organization actually handling the goods.

https://www.bbb.org/us/fl/winter-garden/profile/moving-companies/neville-and-son-trucking-llc-0733-90579300

Without the ability to comment on who actually hauls the goods, additional risk is placed on the individual moving, and one for which All Coast has yet to respond in an effective manner.

I do not dispute your response; I do question the actions of contracting companies with absolutely terrible track records and placing that risk on the consumer without their consent.

What's interesting to note about the increase is that the cargo doubled, the cost tripled with no explanation regardingdetailof charges, including the "other binding estimate fee". Requests to you, as well as Neville and Son, have yielded no results.
